Counting my days

So I leave in 5 days for my great adventure. I think everything is in order now and, as long as no more earthquakes try to destroy Christchurch, everything should run smoothly. I do however need to pack...and do so in a way that only one bag will have to be checked on the plane. Other than that, there isn't much to put here this week. I'll update you all once I start finding out what the "South Island Scoop"  really is. :)

Get Ready, Get Set...But don't go quite yet

I suppose there isn't much to say quite yet about my trip...but I will give you a run down of where I am going. I will be staying for just over 4 months in Christchurch, New Zealand, which is where an earthquake hit in late February. As far as I know the city is being slowly rebuilt but I don't know to what extent. I will be living in an apartment near the University of Canterbury where I will hopefully be able to take a marine biology class. At the end of the first week, the study abroad company I am going through is taking all of the international students to the Southern Alps as part of our orientation. It should be pretty exciting :).
These last couple of weeks have been full of dealing with lots of the technical stuff for the trip which is less than fun, but I suppose that is all part of the process.
I'll update again once I know a bit more about everything.
Until then!
